Our Teaching Team
Stan
Stan Smith has taught ActualDesign Lightwork since 1973. His academic background is in Psychology. Stan leads classes in Initial Level and all Advanced Levels of ActualDesign Lightwork. He has served as Administrative Director and Chair of the ActualDesign Teaching Department. He is currently President of the Organization, a member of the Board of Directors, as well as the Director of the Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay Area Star Centers. Stan lives with his wife in Carmel, California and is the author of Living in the Infinite and Still Getting to Work on Time, about understanding, relating to, and deepening the experience of your Higher Self.
Bruce
Bruce R. Jaffe, Ph.D., has taught ActualDesign Lightwork since 1973 at centers from coast to coast. Bruce earned his doctorate in Human Behavior from Alliant University, San Diego. He has served as Chair of the ActualDesign Teaching Department, as a member of the Board of Directors, and is currently Director of the New York Star Center. Bruce has resided in Manhattan since 1981, where he runs a technical support business, Computer Tutor/Computer Doctor. Formerly a freelance photographer and photo editor, he also worked in the Photo Department at Newsweek magazine for 15 years. He designed the first ActualDesign website-then called Actualism-in 1996 and adapted several introductory Lightwork techniques as articles for the site.
Linda
Linda E. Langhorn, L.Ac., has been a member of the ActualDesign Teaching Department since the early 1980’s. Linda is the Director of the San Diego Star Center, Secretary of the organization, and a member of the Board of Directors. She finds great joy in experiencing the actual design of bringing Lightwork meditation to the world in new ways with expanding technology. As a teacher and acupuncturist, the evolution of consciousness in healing has never ceased to inspire and enlighten her. Currently in semi-retirement, Linda leads Advanced Level classes and supports new teachers.
Cheryl
Cheryl Kanner was born and reared in The Bronx, New York. In 1981, she was initiated into ActualDesign Lightwork, which amazed her, shifted her approach to life and opened her awareness to experiencing her own Lighted Beingness. After eventually settling in Laguna Beach, California, Cheryl continued ActualDesign Lightwork training. Very early on, Cheryl’s interest in the healing arts emerged. That led to decades of teaching and healing with Light. Her boundless enthusiasm for enlightenment infuses her teaching with students at all Levels of ActualDesign training. Cheryl’s core passion for healing and awakening inspires others to deepen their understanding of the journey to discover and express the unique design and purpose of their life.
Lawrence
Lawrence Coleman has practiced ActualDesign Lightwork for decades. Lawrence says “I resisted the call to teach for nearly as long before training to be a teacher.” He leads Initial Level classes in San Diego, California. His experience as an artist, musician and, computer systems analyst informs his approach to teaching. Lawrence lives in San Diego with his wife, his partner on the Lightwork journey.
Ginny
Ginny Pruitt began Lightwork in 1976. She leads Initial Level classes in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her background is in the arts: illustrating, painting, exhibiting, as well as teaching high school art in the public school system. She has worked as an illustrator and art director for a magazine publisher. Ginny has illustrated six books and the ActualDesign-themed book, A Tale of One-Who-Seeks. Some of her greatest joy comes from being a mother and grandmother, and from being creative in all areas of life.
Barry
Barry Donovan says “I got lucky when I found ActualDesign Lightwork in the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 1980’s. My teachers helped me to sit still and meditate, something I had always wanted to do.” These decades later, Barry still practices Lightwork. Retired now, after a career in nursing, he leads Initial Level classes in the South Haven, Michigan area.
